These trees look great clustered together for Christmas
You can use magazines, catalogues or even books.

Take two Christmas Catalogues
Remove the front page and any inside pages that come loose.

Remove the back page and  loose inner pages
Fold the top right hand corner of the first page diagonally to the spine.
Fold again towards the spine so that the flap resembles a tie.
Fold the overhand back up

Turnover the page and start on page two following the same instructions

work through the whole catalogue

until you have folded every page

Then do the same to the second catalogue
apply glue to the two spines

Press them together
You can either spray the tree with gold or silver spray or leave natural.

Top with a bow, star, feathers or beads

Christmas Craft Tutorial ~ Clove Orange Pomanders

Picture from Vegan in the kitchen
Aroma is a very evocative thing.  For me the smell of cloves and orange means Christmas.  These pomanders have been made for hundreds of years and with luck they will dry and give scent to your celebrations for years to come.
You can make them fresh in the final run up to Christmas or you can make them now and dry them out in time for Christmas.  They'll look great piled in a bowl.
You will need
oranges, limes, lemons or kumquats.  (wash them in warm soapy water to remove the wax coating used to preserve their life in shops.)
Cloves (you can often buy large bags cheaply in Asian food shops)
(optional mixed spice)
Oris root powder (from craft shops, or On line HERE)
Paper bags
a bodkin or darning needle.

  • Simply make holes into the skin of the orange using the needle and then push in the clove stem first.  You can do patterns, cover the whole orange or stud randomly.
  • Cover the fruit in oris root powder and if using, mixed spice.
  • Place in a paper bag and store in a warm dry place.
  • Check at intervals and if the fruit looks as thoggh it will go bad, place the fruit in the bag in a low heat oven for a couple of hours.  refresh the oris root powder and use a fresh bag before storing away again.
  • By Christmas the orange should be brown and hard and should be giving a lovely aroma.

Christmas Craft Tutorial ~ Foot prints and Hand Print Christmas

Baby's first Christmas.  Paint the toes red and the foot green and then print one foot at a time on to a piece of clean paper.  Make sure that the heals overlap.
Once try use felt pens to add a star and a trunk to your tree.
Additions.  You could make the star and then use glitter.

This Christmas tree hand print design can be created in the same way this image is from The other white house via Pinterest

Christmas Craft Tutorial ~ Beer Bottle Christmas Tree

Not being a beer drinker myself, I am unlikely to ever create a masterpiece like this.
If you want to have a go at making one, it makes a great excuse for a party because I personally don't see how you are going to drink the 233 bottles of beer required to create the six level tree.
The instructions for making the tree are to be found HERE
